Our Success Stories
  • “I’m incredibly grateful for the support I received from BCITSA Career Services, especially from Gila, during my job search. I wanted to take a moment to share how much of a difference it made in helping me land my ideal job post-grad. Throughout the job search process, I felt overwhelmed and unsure about how to approach applications and interviews. That’s when I connected with Career Services and began working with Gila. She guided me through resume and cover letter reviews, interview prep, and gave me practical, actionable advice that helped me feel much more confident. What stood out the most was how Gila helped me manage stress and build confidence by breaking things down for me. I also really appreciated the personal connection — from cheering me on to helping me reframe challenges, Gila was always there to help me stay grounded and focused.”

BCIT Grad, Landed a Recent Grad Job

  • “I contacted Marcus Tang to discuss my situation and how I have been persistently applying for jobs and needed some direction/an outside perspective on my approach. As I was doing a career shift, I was uncertain about how to position myself in the roles I was applying for and whether the industries I was applying to were even going to consider my candidacy. Marcus was very patient, an active listener, and showed compassion when offering me honest suggestions on how to approach applications. Working with Marcus helped me develop the confidence to keep going, and applying for jobs that aligned with my values and what is important for me. I am thankful for BCIT Career Services and the programs they deliver to help students in their job search, and a big thanks to Marcus for keeping in touch and offering help and support where it was most needed. Thank you!!”

  • “I was very happy with the outcome of today’s meeting with Libo. She is very friendly and super professional to help me find out my career plan and encourage me to follow it up. I really appreciated her time and effort.”

BCIT Student, Feedback on One-to-One Meetings
  • “Joyce was more than just a career advisor—she became a mentor, coach, and at times, even a psychologist. She consistently believed in me, even when I doubted myself and considered settling for roles far below my skill level, or roles outside of my field entirely. Her belief in my abilities and in the value I bring as a woman in engineering helped me stay focused and motivated. What impressed me the most was Joyce’s incredible dedication. Even when her calendar was fully booked, she always found a way to help. I could send her a quick email if I had an interview coming up, and she would make time to prepare with me—sometimes even on short notice. Her support during those crucial moments made all the difference.”

    BCIT Grad, Mechanical Engineering Program
  • “Reena guided me through the process of clarifying my career direction, and we started by reviewing my CliftonStrengths assessment, which helped me understand how my natural strengths connect to my future career goals. Her support gave me clarity at a time when I was uncertain about my next steps. I appreciated how approachable and encouraging she was, while also giving me practical strategies. Reena connected me with resources and even passed along my interest in Cybersecurity mentorship to Marcus, which I see as an important next step in my journey. What stood out the most was how personalized her guidance was. Rather than just general advice, she focused on me — my strengths, my situation, and where I want to go. I left our meetings with more confidence, a clearer path, and concrete actions to move forward. I am grateful for the support from BCITSA Career Services and would definitely recommend it to other students who are looking for direction, mentorship, or clarity in their job search and career planning.”
