The BCIT Student Association is dedicated to supporting Part-Time Studies students during their studies at BCIT. The BCITSA does this through providing personal development and career development opportunities to PTS students. PTS students are eligible to participate in most programs and events so join a club, get your resume reviewed, eat healthy and de-stress through FREE massages or Doggy De-Stress Day. Peer Tutoring

The Student Association’s One-to-One Program is designed to help you succeed in your studies at BCIT. Having problems with a course? Putting in the effort but not getting the results? We have friendly and knowledgeable private tutoring available to both full-time and part-time students.

Please note that tutoring sessions are available for $18.00 per hour and Peer Tutoring Program vouchers can only be purchased at the Career & Student Resource Centre (SE2). Sign Up here

Mentorship

Become a mentee – enhance your employability!

The BCIT Student Association (BCITSA) Mentorship Program introduces students to industry professionals in their respective fields. Having a mentor while you attend school can give you some excellent tools to overcome any pitfalls or challenges you may face in your career (or it may help you obtain that ideal job in your field). The mentor’s role is to help you meet your goals, and give you industry tips, as well as provide you with guidance in business and academic strategies. This program is a great way to get objective, unvarnished advice.

Peak Leadership

QPR

Question, Persuade, Refer is a 60 minute suicide prevention training course. According to the 2013 National College Health Assessment, approximately 1 in 10 Canadian post-secondary students report that they seriously considered suicide in the last 12 months. Learn how to detect the signs of suicide, how to intervene, and possibly save a life. Join the BCIT community effort to save lives from the most preventable kind of death. What is the Advocate?

The BCIT Student Association Advocate provides confidential, unbiased services to current, former, or prospective BCIT students, and other members of the BCIT community, by providing information, advice, intervention and referrals. The Advocate also champions procedural fairness for all BCIT students and seeks to educate the BCIT community at large in regards to accurate policy and procedure implementation, effective communication, and informal dispute resolution.

BCITSA Childcare

BCITSA Childcare Centre strives to promote the child’s development ­emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually. Our philosophy is that each child needs to develop at their own pace in a stimulating, secure and responsive environment. Through a well-planned curriculum, our goal is to provide a variety of learning experiences in all areas of development. We offer a “play base program” for our children complete with science, language and math, music and art. We have a beautiful fully-fenced landscaped outdoor area complete with sandbox, climbing wall, slide, bike track, lots of room to run, and a covered area for those rainy days. We are located on the beautiful BCIT campus alongside the picturesque Guischon creek.

Immigration Services

The BCITSA Immigration Services provides a unique service to all BCIT students, staff and alumni. On behalf of our clients, we deliver immigration council, consultation and representation in a timely, professional manner. Examples of our services include:

  • Selecting the best immigration stream that is right for you.
  • Completing and submitting immigration forms in a timely manner.
  • Communicating with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA).
  • Representing clients during immigration hearings, proceedings, applications and appeals.
  • Providing status up-dates during applications
