BCITSA’S Career Specialists offer Office Hours Appointments for all BCIT Students and Alumni across BCIT Campuses. Please make an appointment by logging on to Career Track or contact them directly for questions.

Career Specialists can be reached directly by employers to discuss recruitment strategies and employer services.

BCITSA Student Services is committed to providing confidential services. All of the information that you share with the BCITSA Student Services team is managed according to the BCITSA Privacy Policy No. SL-6 and cannot be shared with a third party without consent. The exception to this is if you disclose something that leads the Student Services team member to believe that you may be of harm to yourself, someone else, or the BCIT community. BCITSA Student Services has an obligation to report this information even without explicit consent.

Student Services team members may take notes on your participation with Student Services programs in order to document your involvement and progress. Should you wish that notes not be taken in regards to your participation, please communicate this directly to the team member you are working with.

Tara has worked with the BCIT Student Association since April 2015. She manages all aspects of Student and Career Services at the SA and developed the SA’s Career Services department from the ground up.

Tara has a strong background in program management and career development. Over the past seven years she has played a lead role in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of several career programs and she has experience working with a wide variety of populations including youth, students, aboriginals, older workers, and immigrants. Tara studied program evaluation while completing her MA at Royal Roads University and completed a meta-analysis of training program evaluation methods.  Tara also holds an MA in History from the University of Toronto.

Joyce has a strong passion for helping BCIT students turn their stressful career search experience into a meaningful experience of self-discovery and success.

Joyce’s expertise includes one-on-one coaching, group learning facilitation, instructional design, E-learning, and career resources development.

Joyce holds an MA in second language & literacy education (UBC) and Ph.D. in intercultural education (U of Alberta).

Amy has worked in Student and Career Services for over 5 years at BCIT and brings a unique mix of program planning, one-to-one coaching, and industry engagement to support students and alumni in reaching their potential. Amy applies a variety of career practitioner theories and coaching skills to assist individuals in creating career goals and guide them in advancing their soft skills and industry engagement. She works closely with the BCIT International Student Centre and BCIT Indigenous Services to provide customized services and resources to BCIT’s diverse population.

Kim brings her diverse background in training & development, recruitment and project management from public, private, not-for-profit and post-secondary work environments to BCIT. A certified Career Development Practitioner, Kim has a wealth of experience delivering job search workshops and coaching students through work-to-school and school-to-work transitions.

Larry is very excited to be back at his alma mater to help BCIT Transportation Technology students and alumni, meet, learn and connect to careers and life.  He is an experienced career mentor with a focus on strategic job search.  Larry has worked with current and recently graduated post-secondary students as well as seasoned industry professionals from many areas of study and industries.   His extensive work experience in a variety of sectors and roles has taken him from engineering services marketing, retail operations & management including procurement to career development and coaching.

Larry is passionate about helping others and sharing to achieve individual and common goals.  He relies on his many years of local work experience and broad knowledge base to facilitate student career and life success.  Larry’s educational background includes, Dip’l.T. – Marketing from BCIT, BA – Communication from SFU, and various other training in career development and HR.

With over 7 years of experience in career services, Tule has a diverse background providing job development services, industry engagement, mentorship coordinating and employment counselling with individuals of varied populations including youth, skilled immigrants, mature workers and students.

Tule believes that everyone possesses a talent and unique ability that needs to be realized and is passionate about enabling individuals to reach their full potential as they embark on their career journey. She is a Certified Career Development Practitioner, Certified Interview Strategist and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Educational Counselling from Simon Fraser University.

Tania has a strong passion for connecting people, ideas, and resources. As coordinator of the student development department at the BCIT Student Association, she channels this passion by assisting students with their professional development through access to leadership skills training, coaching, and mentoring opportunities.

Her aim is to support students in their personal improvement and individual growth by creating a student-centered joyful learning environment and positive, engaging and blended learning experiences that include one-on-one instruction and collaborative group work.

She is a proud graduate of BCIT’s Human Resources diploma program and holds a bachelor’s degree in business communication (NWU).

Dulari is currently pursing an Associate Certificate in Business Administration at BCIT and has 12 years experience in administration. She provides administrative support to the Career Services department and over 150 employers for events throughout the year. Dulari serves as a primary contact for the Career Services department and assists employer and students with queries related to all of our Career Services.
