Marketing Management Diploma – Entrepreneurship Option

The Entrepreneurship diploma program gives you a broad base of business knowledge, including specialized training in the development and growth of new products and services.

  • Two-year full-time diploma program
  • Real-world learning with professional entrepreneurs
  • Business consultant project and practicum provide hands-on experience

Coast Capital Entrepreneurial Skills for Trades and Technology

  • Four entrepreneurial courses (Statement of Completion), open to all BCIT students and alumni regardless of area of study.
  • There are no prerequisites or mandatory courses. You don’t need any previous business education or experience.
  • Courses are BCIT accredited and may count as electives in some BCIT certificate or degree programs.

Peter Thompson Centre for Venture Development

If you have a fully developed business concept in mind, the Accelerated Venture Program is a non-credit course consisting of 126 contact hours (Immersion Phase) and business plan development and 21 months of business support (Launch Phase), where participants learn to assess opportunities for their business concept, and create a business plan to put their ideas into action. They offer 3 intakes per year.

Applied Research Liaison Office

ARLO assists the BCIT community with advancing applied research projects, securing government funding, developing intellectual property, planning commercialization strategies and is connected to BC’s innovation ecosystem (industry, other universities and government programs).

Student Innovation Challenge

BCIT’s Student Innovation Challenge is an annual innovation contest aimed at providing funding, support, and encouragement to BCIT students who have “big ideas.”

VentureLabs® is a world-class technology business accelerator program delivered by Simon Fraser University in partnership with the NRC IRAP, the BC Innovation Council, University partners including BCIT, Ryerson University, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, the University of Victoria, the Emily Carr University of Art + Design, government and industry partners.

MAKE+

MAKE+, provides “engineering product development” leadership to industry, faculty and students at BCIT. For established entrepreneurs, they offer a range of services to optimize the functionality, user experience, value and, commercial success of products. For students, they provide the following services: Tours, Info Sessions, Handouts, Product Development “Speed Dating”, Capstone Project Sponsorship & Mentorship, Connections to Industry, Training on the Use of Equipment, and more!
